Downloaded excel files not shown on desktop

When I went looking for The Excel file via File Explorer I found nothing. Then I opened Excel and there was no file listed under Recent area. After a moment of panic, I re-opened/re-downloaded the report in Edge from our report server, and it opened in Excel appeneded with (5) - which tells me there are at least 4 other copies of it *somewhere*. The downloads opened Excel (was same version) as expected an Excel spreadsheet file. Did noticed in the download Dialog box when the file was downloaded there was comment saying the csv file will open as an Excel Spreadsheet. I do not see this Dialog comment on my computer when I down load the file. You'll see there that they're topfind247.co topfind247.co files. The "association" has changed and Windows now indicates that they open with Reader, which isn't topfind247.co it says "Open With" under the General tab, you can click "Change" and re-select Excel as the default app to open.
